Edit / Sample Areas Menu

The Edit / Sample Areas menu offers the following commands:

Define New Sample Area

Defines a new sample area.

Define New Open-Type Sample Area

Defines a new open-type sample area.

Finish New Sample Area

Complete definition of a new sample area.

Delete Selected Sample Areas

Deletes selected sample areas and the samples they contain.

Select / Deselect Sample Areas

Selects/Deselects sample areas.

Set Grid Angle

Changes the alignment angle for gridded samples.

Reset Grid Angle

Changes the alignment angle for gridded samples back to its default setting.

Change Color

Changes the color of selected sample areas.

Color by Value

Colors sample areas / rooms based on a parameter value

Map Elevations from Contours

Creates elevation mappings for a sample area from contour lines

Clear Elevations

Remove elevation mappings from all selected sample areas

Combine

Combine multiple sample areas into a single sample area or create holes in sample areas.

Uncombine

Break apart sample areas that have been previously combined.

Cut Out

Cut out contained sample areas leaving holes in containing sample areas.

Snap Edges

When edges and corners of adjacent sample areas do not exactly match up, use this command to perfectly align them.

Bring to Front

Brings the selected sample areas to front of list.

Flip Direction

Flips the direction of an open-type sample area.

Trim

Shortens an open-type sample area.

Bisect

Use the command to split a sample area into one or more parts.

Partition

Breaks a Sample Area into smaller sample areas.

Expand

Expands all selected sample areas by a specified amount

User-Defined Parameters

Define new parameters for sample areas / rooms

Set Parameter Values

Sets values of sample area / room parameters from manual input or from other parameter values

Load Parameter Values

Sets values of sample area / room parameters from clipboard or external file

Export Parameter Values

Exports selected sample area parameters to a file

Add MARSSIM Class Parameters

Adds the Zone parameter used to define class types for MARSSIM.

Certain sample area parameters can be changed on the Sample Area Information dialog accessed by right-clicking on a sample area.
