Draw Rectangle command (Map menu)

This allows you to draw a rectangle on the map.

Define one corner of the rectangle and then the opposite corner. Holding the Ctrl key limits the rectangle to a square.

After the rectangle is defined, a sample area is created to fill the rectangle.

You can specify the exact dimension or coordinates on the keyboard.

To define the exact dimensions of the rectangle, simply type the dimension separated by an x (e.g. 100x50 <Enter> ). You will see what you are typing on the status bar at the bottom of the program. This will create a rectangle 100 by 50 map units. The lower left corner of the rectangle will be placed at the coordinate (0,0) and the upper right corner of the rectangle will be placed at (100,50).

To define the exact coordinates of the rectangles, type in the first coordinate (e.g., 0,0 <Enter> ) and then the opposite corner (e.g., 100,40 <Enter> ). You will see what you are typing on the status bar at the bottom of the program. After you enter the second coordinate, the rectangle will be created on the map.
