This page of the sample design dialog controls how samples are placed on the map for multiple increment sampling designs.
This design page contains the following controls:
Place increments over entire site
Places the increments for each multiple increment sample spread across the entire site. Every multiple increment sample will consist of a composite of samples placed either randomly or in a systematic grid over the entire sample areas.
Group increments in a localized area
Places the increments in groups over a specified area around a center increment. These groups will be placed either randomly or in a systematic grid across the site.
If the increment placement method selected is to group increments in a localized area, the shape of the group area to use is displayed here. Either a circular or a square area can be selected. It is up to the sampling team to determine the pattern of placement of the increments within the area surrounding the center increment.
Simple random sampling
Places samples in sample areas in a random arrangement using the selected random number generator.
Systematic grid sampling
Places samples in sample areas in a systematic grid arrangement.
Square |
Use a square grid pattern for systematic grid placement. |
Triangular |
Use a triangular grid pattern for systematic grid placement. |
Rectangular |
Use a rectangular grid pattern for systematic grid placement. |
