Make Transect Labels (Tools menu)

Use this command to automatically create labels for the transects in each selected sample area.

The dialog contains two basic controls:

Label Format Text Box:

Use this text box to create the format or template for each transect label. Certain text that appears between angle brackets < > represents variables (see below). All other text represents literal text that will appear in the transect label.

Variable List:

Double click on an item in the list to add the variable to the end of the Label Format in the text box. (Variables may also be typed into the Label Format text box, this list provide a quick way of doing so as well as providing a reference.)

 

The following is a list of valid variables:

<ANAME>

The Sample Area Name, which can be accessed or modified from the Sample Area Information dialog box.

<AREA>

The unique Sample Area number, which is internal to VSP and comes from the order of sample area creation.

<GNAME>

The name of a "Gap" that was created using the UXO Augment design.

<GNUM>

The number of a "Gap" that was created using the UXO Augment design.

<ID>

Transect ID number. For transect that were created using the UXO Augment design, all the connected segments share the same ID.

<SEQ>

Sequence number. For transect that were created using the UXO Augment design, this is a unique number for each connected segment.

<SEQL>

Sequence letter. For transect that were created using the UXO Augment design, this is a unique letter combination for each connected segment.
