Preferences are persistent; they are saved and restored the next time you start VSP. So practically speaking, you only have to set them once. From a technical aspect, Preferences are stored in the Windows Registry, whereas the other Options are stored with the project file.
The Preferences menu offers the following commands:
Allows the input of Delta in design dialog boxes. |

Allows the input of LBGR/UBGR in design dialog boxes. |
|
Changes the sub-version of VSP. |
|
Displays the initial information associated with the chosen sub-version of VSP. |
|
Displays informational dialog when judgment sampling is used. |
|
Change the currency format in VSP. |
|
Change the location of temporary files written by VSP during Geostatistical analysis. |
|
Set the default map units for VSP. |
