This command opens a dialog to edit simple and custom data filters. Data filters can be used on the Data Analysis page of most sample design dialogs to select a subset of data for analysis. Filters can also be used to create special Filter-type Sample User-Defined Parameters.
This dialog contains the following controls:
Current Simple Filter: |
There is one simple filter in a project. It can consist of a single logical condition or two logical conditions joined together. The simple filter provides easy filtering without having to use the Custom Filter Editor. |
Condition one: |
The following 3 items join to form a complete logical condition |
Parameter drop-list |
Use to select the parameter for the condition. The list contains all built-in and user-defined sample parameters. Filter-type user-defined sample parameters are excluded from the list. |
Comparison drop-list |
Use to select the type of comparison. The comparisons vary with the type of parameter selected. |
Operand combo-box |
Choose one of the existing values from the list, or edit to create your own value. |
Compound radio buttons |
Select "And" or "Or" to combine two conditions together. Select the left (blank) radio button to use only the single condition above. |
Condition two: |
The following 3 items form a second logical condition |
Parameter 2 drop-list |
Use to select the parameter for the second condition |
Comparison 2 drop-list |
Use to select the comparison for the second condition. |
Operand 2 combo-box |
Use to select the operand value for the second condition. |
Add to Custom List button |
Click this button to save the current simple filter to the list of Custom Filters. You will be prompted to provide a name for the new custom filter. Adding the filter to the Custom List allows you to define a new simple filter and still retain access to the previous simple filter (now a custom filter). |
Custom Filters: |
Your project can contain as many custom filters as you want. Each filter can be as simple as a single logical condition, but there is no upper limit to the complexity of the filter conditions. Each custom filter is saved to the list with a unique name. Custom Filters can also be used to create Filter-type User-Defined Sample Parameters. |
Custom Filter list |
This list contains the names of all custom filters in the project. Select a name from the list to edit the filter. |
Edit Filter button |
Click this button to edit the selected filter using the Custom Filter Editor. |
Create New Filter button |
Click this button to create a new filter using the Custom Filter Editor. |
